Connecting Shopify
Install the Zalify app from the Shopify App Store to sync orders and products, create contacts from your customers, and load the pixel through a theme app embed.
You connect Shopify by installing the Zalify app from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, Zalify syncs your store's orders and products automatically, and the same app installs the Zalify pixel on your storefront through a theme app embed — there's no code to paste.
Install the Zalify app
- Open the Shopify App Store and search for Zalify, or go to the Zalify listing directly.
- Click Install on the listing.
- Shopify shows the permissions Zalify needs and redirects you to your Shopify admin. Approve the installation.
- You're taken through connecting the store to your Zalify workspace — sign in to Zalify (or create an account) if prompted.
After installing, enable the Zalify app embed in your theme so the pixel loads on your storefront — see Enabling the pixel below.
What syncs from Shopify
Once connected, Zalify keeps the following in sync:
| Shopify data | Where it goes in Zalify |
|---|---|
| Orders | Customers become contacts in your audience, and orders feed revenue attribution in Ana |
| Products | Your product catalog, powering product analytics and reporting |
Orders → contacts and attribution
When an order comes in, the customer is created or updated as a contact — so your Shopify buyers show up in your audience and can be reached with broadcasts and automations. The order itself is matched to the visitor's on-site journey, so Ana can attribute revenue to the channels and campaigns that drove it. See Attribution.
Products
Your product catalog syncs so Ana can report on product performance — see Top products and top search.
Enable the pixel app embed
On Shopify, the pixel installs through the Zalify app embed in your theme — this is what displays popups and forms and tracks visitor behavior for analytics. Enabling it is a one-time toggle in the Shopify theme editor. Follow Installing the Zalify pixel for the exact steps.
If popups aren't showing or analytics aren't tracking on a Shopify store, a disabled app embed is the most common cause — see the pixel not tracking checklist.
Billing through Shopify
If you installed Zalify through Shopify, your subscription is billed through Shopify: you pick a plan in Zalify, approve the charge in your Shopify admin, and it appears on your Shopify invoice. See Plans & what's included.
Reconnecting after a disconnect
If you uninstall the Zalify app — or the connection breaks — syncing stops: new orders and product changes no longer flow into Zalify, and the pixel stops loading on your storefront. Contacts and data already synced remain in your workspace.
To reconnect:
- Reinstall the Zalify app from the Shopify App Store, following the same steps as the first install.
- Connect the store to your existing Zalify workspace so it links back to your existing data.
- Re-check that the app embed is still enabled in your theme, since theme changes or a theme switch can turn it off.
