Upgrading, downgrading & cancellation

How to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan, what happens to your data and limits when you do, and how enterprise renewals differ.

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel a non-enterprise plan yourself at any time from the Billing & Usage page — or, if you're billed through Shopify, from the Choose Plan page. Enterprise plans work differently: changes and renewals go through our team, and your plan never downgrades automatically.

Upgrading

  1. Open Billing & Usage and select Upgrade (or Change plan).
  2. Pick your new plan and confirm.
  3. Shopify-billed stores are redirected to Shopify to approve the new charge instead.

Upgrades take effect immediately, so you get the higher limits right away. The price difference is prorated: you're charged only for the remainder of the current billing period at the new rate.

For what each plan includes, see Plans & what's included.

Downgrading

Downgrading works from the same place — pick a lower plan and confirm. Two things to check first:

When it takes effect.

Whether you fit inside the lower plan's limits. If your workspace currently exceeds the lower plan's entitlements — more contacts, team members, or sites than it allows — you'll need to know what happens to the excess:

  • Contacts:
  • Emails: your sending quota drops to the new plan's level. See Email sending limits & your plan.
  • Credits:
  • Paid-only features: content you created with features not in the lower plan.
  • Team members and sites:

None of your data is deleted without warning.

Cancelling

  1. Open Billing & Usage and select Cancel plan.
  2. Confirm the cancellation.
  3. Shopify-billed stores cancel by uninstalling the app or cancelling through Shopify.

Your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your workspace moves to the free plan.

The downgrade effects above apply when the cancellation lands, since the free plan has the tightest limits.

Enterprise renewals

Enterprise plans are contracts, so the self-serve flows above don't apply. Three things to know:

  • Your plan never auto-downgrades. When an enterprise contract reaches its end date, Zalify does not automatically drop your workspace to a lower plan or cut off your data.
  • You'll get an expiry email. Ahead of your contract's expiry date, the workspace owner receives an email telling you the plan is approaching expiry and how to renew.
  • Renewal is a conversation. To renew, change terms, or move off enterprise, reply to that email or contact our team.

Frequently asked

Can I change plans as a non-owner team member? See Inviting team members & roles.

I upgraded mid-period. What will my next invoice look like? The proration from your upgrade appears alongside the new plan's regular charge.

Will cancelling stop my scheduled broadcasts and automations? Anything that relies on paid limits stops working once the plan lapses. See Scheduling & rescheduling a broadcast.
