What is a Submission?
A Submission is the record Zalify saves every time someone fills out a form.
A Submission is the record created every time someone completes a Form. One submit equals one Submission.
In plain terms
If a Form is the ask, a Submission is the answer — the receipt. It captures exactly what the person typed: their email, and any other fields you collected, kept word for word.
Every submit is saved — even without a signup
This is the part that surprises people: a Submission is stored even if the form didn't add anyone to a list. That's on purpose. A post-purchase survey or a "tell us what you think" form has no subscription, but you still want the answers. Zalify keeps every Submission so nothing you collect is lost.
Why it matters
Submissions are your raw record of everything visitors have told you. They're useful for:
- Reading survey and feedback responses
- Following up on leads
- Checking exactly what someone entered, later
How it connects
A Submission is created by a Form. When the form is a signup, that same submission also adds the person to a List and can start an Automation.
Submission vs. List
A Submission is a one-time record of what someone entered. A List is an ongoing group of people. A survey creates submissions without touching any list; a newsletter signup does both.
