What is a Broadcast?
A Broadcast is a one-off message you send to a whole list or segment at a time you choose.
A Broadcast is a single message you send to a whole List or Segment at a moment you choose.
In plain terms
A Broadcast is a one-time send. You write it, pick who gets it, and send. A newsletter, a product launch, a holiday sale announcement — those are all broadcasts. Everyone in the audience you picked gets the same message at about the same time.
Why it matters
Broadcasts are how you share news. When something is happening right now — a new drop, a flash sale, an update customers should know about — a broadcast puts it in front of your whole audience at once.
Because you choose who receives it, you can keep each send relevant: announce a launch to your "VIP" segment first, or send a win-back offer only to lapsed customers.
Broadcast vs. Automation
This is the pairing worth remembering:
- A Broadcast goes out once, to everyone you pick, when you hit send. Good for news.
- An Automation runs continuously, and each person moves through it on their own schedule. Good for journeys, like a welcome series.
Which one do I want?
Send a Broadcast when the timing is "now, to this group." Set up an Automation when the timing is "whenever someone qualifies." Most stores use both.
Email today, more coming
Broadcasts currently send by email. SMS and WhatsApp broadcasts are on the way.
How it connects
A Broadcast is sent to a List or a Segment — the same audiences you build everywhere else in Zalify. For ongoing, automatic sends instead of one-offs, see Automation.
