Introducing Zalify DownPay: deposit payments for Shopify

Today we're launching Zalify DownPay, a new Shopify app that lets your customers pay a deposit now and settle the remaining balance when their order ships.

If you sell pre-orders, made-to-order products, or anything with a long lead time or a high price tag, you know the tension: asking for full payment up front kills conversion, but taking orders without payment kills your cash flow. DownPay splits the difference — the customer commits with a deposit, you collect the rest when you fulfill.

How it works

Deposit rules, your way. Enable deposits for specific products, variants, product tags, or your entire store. You set the split; the product page shows a clear choice between paying a deposit and paying in full.

Native Shopify checkout. DownPay is built on Shopify's selling plans infrastructure, so payment collection stays entirely inside Shopify's checkout and payment systems. No redirect to a third-party payment page, no separate compliance story.

Balances collected automatically. When an order ships, the remaining balance is charged automatically — and retried automatically if a charge fails. No manual invoicing, no chasing customers over email.

One dashboard. Deposit orders, outstanding balances, fulfillment status, and retry activity all live in a single admin view, so you always know what's been collected and what's still due.
